I have to preface this week’s I ♥ Faces entry by saying…I am the worst sun flare photographer in the whole entire world. I am envious of photographers who have sun flare all figured it out…and I’m really wishing that I had an insanely awesome photo to show off that had that beautiful “star burst” of sun somewhere in it.
But alas, I don’t. I scoured through my photos tonight trying to find one that would work and ended up with this photo from our vacation to Lake Michigan this past summer.
You have to look close, but there is a glare thingy from the sun…and there are kind of some faces. I have no idea how I ended up with said glare thingy in this particular photo, but I sure was glad to see it there.
This is one week that I am really, really thankful that the Guest Photographer Judge (who just happens to be BECKER!!!) will not be seeing my photo. ;) (As co-founder of I ♥ Faces, I am not eligible to win any of the photo challenges and am entering just for the fun of it.)
P.S. Sunsets on Lake Michigan really are that spectacular. What an incredible sight that was!

This is SO gorgeous! Wow. Did you show is this in the summer because I am in love! : ) As soon as I saw it I thought back to your vacation in Michigan with the spotty internet and I was happy you had such a wonderful time : ) I remembered!
that's gorgeous
Oh, that's stunning.. I love it! And, um... can I just say that I'm GLAD that all of you experts had a little trouble with this theme? Cause I've been trying for a stinkin' month and really couldn't do anything that I'd consider "good". But I learned a lot, so thank you... I think. ;<)
Oh my, this has that "wish I was there" quality to it, just lovely!
No way! You are far too hard on yourself, this looks like a postcard!!
Stunning sunset!!!
Hey Angie - when you decide you're serious about finding more sun and practicing ... go ahead and get on another plane (go ahead and bring the kiddos this time!) and come on out to Cali. We'll play play play!
it's a stunning photo - you should have framed it.
Hey ANgie... beautiful picture! I can't figure out silhouettes, but yours are perfect! I love this picture!
Beautiful as always, Angie. I think you should frame it too.
i agree! Put that picture in a frame! It is so gorgeous! I miss summers in Michigan...winters, though, are another story...
This is beautiful!! I feel the warmth through the photo!!
Faces or no faces the photo is gorgeous! I can feel the last bit of sun on my face. The flare adds just the right touch! I'm mostly impressed with the fact that all four of your kids are in the same photo - and cooperating. Mine... don't... do... that... ever! Great job! :D
Very pretty, Angie! I love it!!
ps. Do you have plans for a "sleeping" theme. I was thinking that might be fun :)
This is so pretty. You should frame it.
What an awesome photograph!! I look forward to your pictures every week and you never disappoint me :)
Oooohhh...pretty.
Oh those colors are gorgeous.
@Life With Kaishon - It was that vacation. I wish we were there right now! Except that it would be freezing cold now. :)
@Skeller - Someday, somehow...that is going to happen!
@Tomara - It involved a bit of threatening them with bodily injury. LOL! Not really, but I'm pretty sure I did some yelling.
@Mrs. Bird - You're not going to believe this, but that theme is on the schedule for December. I'll be posting it later today.
Thanks so much for your kind words everyone!
definitely frame-worthy :)
Looks like a great family memory... and hooray for flare! And HOORAY for Becker as a guest judge! I'm stoked :)
Despite your disparaging remarks, I think this is a remarkable, beautiful, wonderful picture! What a great family picture and memory.
Yes. Yes. They are. Even in the winter when I'm freezing my bootay off with the wind whipping across the lake, they are beautiful! You'll have to come a little farther North Next time! There are a few great sunsets on the lake spots where I live (and of course nothing beats a shot of the Mighty Mac at sunset and at night!)
Love that sunset.
Since the rain is here, I can't capture one single sunflare. I don't have it figured out yet. Anyway.
Beautiful picture :)
This is beautiful...I love that all your kiddos are in it! Very sweet way to capture them all.
What a gorgeous sunset! :-) I love your entry - and your explanation totally cracked me up!
I don't have sunflare figured out yet myself! But I do love this picture, especially since it has Lake Michigan in it :)
you are SO not the worst - i think i get the award for that! all i get are the little rings at the end... no actual flare! :) LOL. love this shot though! :) pretty.
Oh I thinks it's BEAUTIFUL!!! I have the big ray-things, but I don't have that insane WATER that you have! GORGEOUS!
This is beautiful, Angie! I do remember this shot from your vacation. It is stunning and should be blown up to poster size and framed.
Alas, no sun flare photo from me. I had none. I feel like a I Heart Faces dropout but I don't have much model cooperation with the kids involved in school activities...
What a perfect picture! so Beautiful♥
Simply beautiful...nice job!
I see it! You are so funny I bet you have sun flare down in no time. Nothing like a challenge for the challenger huh (-:/
It's lovely. I just love all the yellow.
Breathtaking!
so pretty!
love the golden glow. :)
Hi Angie,
If you are the "worst sun flare photographer in the whole entire world", then I don't know how to describe myself. The picture you posted is just great!
